This one stinks."Offensively, things didn't go

The Colts jumped out to a great start to their seasonin terms of production from their defensive line. They got to opposing quarterbacks regularly and early on were near the top of the league in terms of sacks. Over the last several weeks Peyton Manning Jersey White , that has started to dry up. Guys missing time and others getting injured has meant more snaps played and players who aren’t as fresh across the defensive line. Long drives kept alive by poor play on the back end certainly hasn’t done anything to help them out either. With the Colts’ bye week in the rear view mirror, they may have help on the way. Rookie Tyquan Lewis can be activated this week and could play against the Jaguars. The Colts have been pretty consistent in playing things close to the vest in terms of players returning from injury, so don’t expect Reich to give much away prior to when he has to. If Lewis is able to play though, his potential impact should not be discounted. He is 1 of 4 2nd-round picks from the 2018 draft, and all three others are valuable starters. Stephen Holder has said several times, most recently on the Colts’ Cast last week that he has heard from some pretty high ranking Colts officials who believe that Lewis can have the same kind of impact on the defense that Darius Leonard has had. That’s a tall order because Leonard’s season has been phenomenal, but given the successes of this draft class, it certainly isn’t outside the realm of possibility.Lewis ended his time at Ohio State as their 5th player all-time in sacks. That’s pretty impressive given their history and the talent that has come out of the Ohio State football programs of the past. Production isn’t everything at the college level, but it also isn’t nothing. One impressive thing about this coaching staff is that they have done a great job of fitting players to their desired scheme this season. Lewis may start off as primarily a situational pass rusher or get snaps at the 3 technique on obvious passing downs, but getting a young playmaker in the game to keep the line fresh will help them down the stretch. If Tyquan Lewis proves to be what the Colts think he can be Womens Andrew Luck Jersey , they may be looking at a player who can provide a spark that ignites this defense as they hit the back stretch of their schedule. They’ll need it, because if they want to be relevant this season, every game is important from here on out. Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn looked at the stat sheet and got right to the point Sunday. Quarterback Matt Ryan felt the same way.The Falcons need to fix their mistakes and quickly."The penalties, turnovers, those kinds of things, we've had too much of that in the first couple weeks of the season," said Ryan, the league's 2016 MVP. "We had too much of that today. Those are things we have to clean up to be a better football team."The numbers — 16 penalties for 128 yards and minus-1 in the turnover battle — only told part of the story about the 27-24 loss at Indianapolis.Atlanta (1-2) finished one penalty short of matching the franchise's single-game record, set Nov. 5, 1978 at San Francisco and helped put them in a 17-point halftime deficit that they couldn't overcome. And yet the bigger concern may be this problem first surfaced during the preseason and shows no sign of abating.Only eight teams started Week 3 with more penalties than the Falcons and Atlanta nearly doubled its previous total by committing more penalties in one game than 16 teams did in the first two weeks.Seven times Malik Hooker Jersey , the Falcons extended Indy drives with penalties, including a defensive holding call against cornerback Damontae Kazee on third-and-10. Indy cashed in by scoring its final touchdown. And three times, Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett drew the Falcons offside. Not enough?Safety Keanu Neal was called for unsportsmanlike conduct in the end zone on the same play he suffered an Achilles tendon injury. It cost the Falcons their final first-half timeout and gave Indy first-and-goal at the Falcons 4 after Neal was carted off the field.Brissett made the Falcons pay with a touchdown pass to T.Y. Hilton on the next play, giving the Colts a 20-3 lead."We've got work to do as we get ready because we've got to get our road mentality right," Quinn said. "This one stinks."Offensively, things didn't go much better.A holding call against left guard James Carpenter on Atlanta's first series knocked the Falcons out of field-goal range, and another scoring chance slipped away when Clayton Geathers picked off Ryan at the Colts 3-yard line in the first half. Ryan now has six interceptions in three games after throwing seven last year — something he promises to correct."We had two good opportunities to come away with points and we didn't come away with points on either of those possessions," he said. "It turned out this was the kind of game where we needed those scores."Ryan was only partly to blame, though. In addition to all the extra chances the Falcons' defense gave Indy, Atlantastruggled to get off the field. The Falcons allowed scoring drives 93 Peyton Manning Jersey , 94 and 75 yards — the last coming after Ryan's second TD pass cut the deficit to 20-17. But when Colts receiver Zach Pascal ran free down the sideline for a 35-yard catch on third-and-1 with 9:24 left, Marlon Mack cashed in with a 4-yard run on the next play for a 27-17 lead.Ryan answered again with a 10-yard TD pass to Julio Jones to make it 27-24 with 4:11 left. But with a chance to get the ball back to Ryan for a shot at overtime or to play for the win, the defense again failed.Atlanta only forced one third down on the final possession and Brissett converted that by rolling out and finding an open Jack Doyle, who turned a short pass into an 11-yard gain. Indy kneeled down twice to seal it."I thought they did a good job controlling the ball early to create some first downs, but I think the fouls had something to do with that," Quinn said. "We've got to get that part under control for sure."
